Gender Gaps in Tech: Experiences from Industry and Academia

gender gaps in tech

On 28th March the Datalab team in cooperation with GILL and RESET EU projects will host the awareness-raising event “Gender Gaps in Tech: Experiences from Industry and Academia”.

The event will address various gender-related challenges that exist in the technology and STEM sector in both industry and academic environments. It will comprise presentations about networks of Greek women in Tech, STEM, and entrepreneurship, and will further include panel sessions enabling discussions on how to transition from academia to the tech and STEM industries.

It is noted that this informative event constitutes the first part of a capacity-building scheme that is organised by the Datalab team within the context of the GILL project. The capacity-building scheme addresses the various stages of human-centered and gender-responsive technology and AI, starting from female underrepresentation in the relevant employment sectors and reaching up to hands-on training for fair and human-centered AI practices. The cooperation with the RESET project contributes to raising awareness in the academic community as well, overall bringing together both industry and academic representatives sharing fruitful insights and experiences.
