UBx organised a conference for the launch of an exhibition about gender inequalities in the field of computational science, created in cooperation with the Metropolis of Bordeaux .

The conference started with the presentation by Pr. Isabelle Collet: “Egalitarian practices in technology: towards more gender diversity”. She introduced the stereotypes that are present in the IT field and some levers that can work or not address gender inequalities in this scientific field. She also presented the advantages of a more diverse science for technology and innovation.

Afterward, Ninon Junca presented RESET and especially WP7 with the GIA and its checklist. There was a discussion with the public on the importance of taking gender into consideration in one’s research, and the obstacles IT researchers can be confronted with, when it comes to this subject.
