RESET urban activity on diversity and inclusivity in public space using the design thinking method – Łódź Design Festival

The workshop focuses on engaging various communities in creating/re-designing inclusive spaces of COMFORT in the urban environment. Drawing from the EU-funded project RESET (Redesigning Equality and Scientific Excellence Together) coordinated by the Women’s Studies Centre UL and its co-design and intersectional frameworks, the workshop aims to define barriers in public space that may exclude various social groups, in particular women and people with special needs, and to design universal solutions addressing the needs of different citizens. Based on available reports and research results, current challenges and obstacles will be summarised, leading to creating inclusive urban spaces dedicated to various groups, such as seniors, parents with small children, peoples with disabilities, etc. Methodologically, this event draws from design thinking—participants work with personas (with diversified needs) in order to co-design practical solutions and facilitate change in the urban landscape.
